Paxton is a town in Walton County, Florida, United States. Located near Britton Hill on the Alabama-Florida border, it boasts the highest elevation in Florida, reaching 312 ft (95 m). Paxton is situated on the Florida Panhandle and is part of the Crestview–Fort Walton Beach–Destin area. Its population was 556 according to the 2020 census, down from 644 in 2010.
